5 cheeses you CAN eat while trying to lose weight

Dieters often believe the best way to lose weight is to cut out dairy-rich food – especially cheese.

True, lots of cheeses are high in fat, sodium, and calories. But it turns out, cheese can actually help you shred the extra lbs if you eat it right.

1. Cottage cheese

If you’re looking to lose inches and build up muscle then cottage cheese is a great alternative, as it’s low in calories.

It’s also high in protein, calcium and other minerals and vitamins.

2. Feta

Feta is a white, creamy cheese than is brined and made from sheep or goat’s milk.

Not only does it help prevent heart disease but it also has lower fat content compared to other cheeses and benefits bone health.

3. Mozzarella

Part-skim mozzarella has around 70 calories per ounce and it’s also a great source of calcium.

4. Goat’s

Goat’s cheese is packed with calcium as well as other nutrients that are essential for healthy bones. It also contains lots of healthy fats and is a great cheese if you want to lose weight.

5. Ricotta

Compared to other cheese, ricotta is a great, healthy choice because it contains less fat and salt.
