These 3 warming smoothies are like a warm hug on a chilly morning

When it’s cold outside, often a warm drink is just what you need! And you might not have realised it, but our Healthy Mummy Smoothies taste just as good warm as they do cold!

These 3 are our faves here at Healthy Mummy HQ, as they combine the good-for-you ingredients that you know and love with what feels like a (dare we say) warm hug at the same time.

3 warm smoothies to enjoy on a chilly day

Which of these will you try first?

1. Warm Banana Nut Smoothie

Banana-Nutty-Smoothie

Ingredients (serves 1) 

  • 2 tbsp vanilla Health Mummy Smoothie mix (25g)
  • 250ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 5 walnuts (10g)
  • 1 banana (90g)
  • A pinch of nutmeg (0.3g)

Method

  1. Measure out the milk.
  2. In a blender, combine the smoothie mix, walnuts, banana, nutmeg and 50ml of the milk (enough to let the ingredients blend well).
  3. Blend on high speed for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Place the rest of the almond milk in the microwave or on the stove top to warm up (but don’t let it boil).
  5. Pour the blended ingredients into the warm milk, mix well and allow the flavours to combine.
  6. Pour into your favourite mug (or travel mug, to go!) and enjoy.

2. Warm Apple Pie Smoothie

  • 1 small apple, chopped (100 grams)
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats (25 grams)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (0.5 grams)
  • 1 cup reduced-fat milk of choice (250 mls)

Method:

  1. Measure out the milk.
  2. In a blender, combine the smoothie mix, apple, oats, cinnamon, and 50ml of the milk (enough to let the ingredients blend well).

  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter (16g)
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats (12g)
  • Pinch of cinnamon (0.3g)
  • 1 tsp desiccated coconut (2.5g)

Method:

  1. Measure out the milk.
  2. In a blender, combine the smoothie mix, banana, peanut butter, oats, cinnamon, coconut and 50ml of the milk (enough to let the ingredients blend well).
  3. Blend on high speed for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Place the rest of the milk in the microwave or on the stove top to warm up (but don’t let it boil).
  5. Pour the blended ingredients into the warm milk, mix well and allow the flavours to combine.
  6. Pour into your favourite mug (or travel mug, to go!) and enjoy.
