Two mums tell: How to tackle the festive season when you’re trying to lose weight
Two Healthy Mummyย 28 Day Weight Loss Challengeย mums share how they have achievedย AMAZINGย weight loss success despite the constant merry-go-round of parties, events and celebrations to attend during the festive season.

So many parties!
As mums,ย it is easy to feel like every weekend there is some kind of celebration or party to attend. Because there is! Particularly if you have several children. But this doesnโt mean that you canโt achieveย weight loss success.
And nowย that we are approaching the end of the year the frequencyย of parties naturally increases. ย So how do you maintain your weight loss success during this period?
Mums Rochelle and Lauren confirm that it is all about โbalance and mindsetโ.

Rochelle found weight loss success despite all the parties
Rochelle has lost over 5st. in 12 months following theย 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges.
She saysย โIโve been lucky enough to lose 5st. in 12 months โ on average thatโs about 6lbs a month.
Doesnโt seem like much does it? Until all those little numbers added up.โ
Over the last 12 months, this busy mother ofย six says she has attended a MINIMUMย ofย 14 birthday parties, hadย Christmas,ย Easter, and then threw in a few anniversary celebrations.
WOW! Thatโs a lot of parties!
She saysย โThere has also been the odd date night as well as other events. But you know what? The weight still came off!
I celebrated with the odd meal which wasnโt on my Challenge meal plan โ but in reality that would have been ONE OVERINDULGENT MEAL in a week of a minimum 35 NUTRITIOUS meals.
Just know that it ISNโT going to throw you off track.
You can STILL have those celebratory meals whilst doing the Challenge.โ

She says โItโs the small changes over time that get you there.โ
The power of your mindset
When Lauren began her weight loss journey she couldnโt have imagined having the mindset where she didnโt feel like she wasย โmissing outโ on sugar-laden treats, but she said:ย โitย eventually happened.โ
She saysย โIโve had a crazy weekend,ย two kids’ birthday parties and a family BBQ.
But not once did I feel like I was missing out, nor did I have the temptation to have a huge binge sesh like the โoldโ Lauren would.โ
If youโre struggling, please know, itโs worth it to keep working on your mindset.
Notice I didnโt say motivation, or willpower, I mean mindset.
Mindset is more powerful than motivation or willpower will ever be, and is actually something you can positively work on each day.
If you tell yourself:
- I canโt!
- Itโs too hard!
- Giving up is easier
Then youโll believe that!
Instead try:
- I can do this!
- Iโm not missing out!
- This is worth it!
And before long โ you will start to believe yourself!
Youโve been listening to, and believing, that negative voice inside your head for too long.
