Inspiring mum lost 5.4st while on maternity leave
While pregnant with her second childย in January 2017, Amy decided to give the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge a go.
Amy was also determined and drivenย to use herย maternity leave as an opportunity to lose weight.ย
Since, Amy has gone on to lose 5.4st! She now weighs 9.6st, something she hasnโt weighed since she was 10 years old she says.
โIf youโreย consistentย the result will come. It wonโt be overnight, youโll have to be patient, but consistency will get you there in the end,โ Amy says.
How Amy lost 5.4st
โI worked out my BMI, I prepped a few meals ready to go so I had no excuses, and Iย calculated the calories in my food,โ she said.
Amyโs goal weight when she first started her journey wasย to get back to 12.8st and after a few weeks on the 28 Day Weight Loss Challengeย sheย knew this was something she would reach in no time.
Amy was then inspired to change her goal weight to 9.5st (based on her BMI). โI havenโt been 9.5st since Iย was about 10, Iโm now 9.6st,โ she says. WOW!
Food, food and food
Amy says her biggest challenge while on her weight loss journey has been to not eat out of boredom or comfort. However, to only eat when hungry and at meal times.
โI found at first that after dinner Iย still wanted more food, so now instead of eating seconds I will grab a tasty sweet 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge snack, my favourites areย Twix sliceย and Peanut bubble crunch,โ she says.
Meal prepping 2 -4 meals a week and freezing the leftovers has helped Amy stay on weight loss track.
โConsistency is my big tipโ
โConsistency is my big tip, if youโve calculated your BMI and are eating well and moving your body, just keep going.
โWhen the scales or measurements donโt budge, keep going.ย If youโve had a bad day and eaten everything in the house, wake up the next day and just keep going. If youโre consistent the result will come. It wonโt be overnight, youโll have to be patient, but consistency will get you there in the end,โ Amy says.
Taking progress photos keeps Amyย inspired and keeps her journey positive. โAlso having the support from the Healthy Mummy group on Facebook always boosts my spirits, itโs such a great community,โ Amy said.
