Inspiring mum lost 5.4st while on maternity leave
While pregnant with her second child in January 2017, Amy decided to give the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge a go.
Amy was also determined and driven to use her maternity leave as an opportunity to lose weight.
Since, Amy has gone on to lose 5.4st! She now weighs 9.6st, something she hasn’t weighed since she was 10 years old she says.
“If you’re consistent the result will come. It won’t be overnight, you’ll have to be patient, but consistency will get you there in the end,” Amy says.
How Amy lost 5.4st
“I worked out my BMI, I prepped a few meals ready to go so I had no excuses, and I calculated the calories in my food,” she said.
Amy’s goal weight when she first started her journey was to get back to 12.8st and after a few weeks on the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge she knew this was something she would reach in no time.
Amy was then inspired to change her goal weight to 9.5st (based on her BMI). “I haven’t been 9.5st since I was about 10, I’m now 9.6st,” she says. WOW!
Food, food and food
Amy says her biggest challenge while on her weight loss journey has been to not eat out of boredom or comfort. However, to only eat when hungry and at meal times.
“I found at first that after dinner I still wanted more food, so now instead of eating seconds I will grab a tasty sweet 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge snack, my favourites are Twix slice and Peanut bubble crunch,” she says.
Meal prepping 2 -4 meals a week and freezing the leftovers has helped Amy stay on weight loss track.
“Consistency is my big tip”
“Consistency is my big tip, if you’ve calculated your BMI and are eating well and moving your body, just keep going.
“When the scales or measurements don’t budge, keep going. If you’ve had a bad day and eaten everything in the house, wake up the next day and just keep going. If you’re consistent the result will come. It won’t be overnight, you’ll have to be patient, but consistency will get you there in the end,” Amy says.
Taking progress photos keeps Amy inspired and keeps her journey positive. “Also having the support from the Healthy Mummy group on Facebook always boosts my spirits, it’s such a great community,” Amy said.
