Healthy Mummy Shantelle loses 5.5st in 16 months
Healthy Mummy Shantelle has gone through a huge transformation in the past 16 months, going from 17.3st. to 11.8st.ย in 16months. Thatโs a total loss of 5.5st. on theย 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.
We checked in with Shantelle to find out how she was travelling and her plans for losing the last 1.5st.
Shantelleโs weight loss plan
Shantelleโsย next goals are to lose the last 1.5st, tone up herย tummy, increase the weight she can squat and be able to do unassisted tricep dips and pull ups.
Since losing weight, Shantelle has discovered just how much she loves working out, especially leg day!
โLegs are my favourite body part to train, I designate a 2.5 hour gym session a week to train legs as it is what I most enjoy,โย she says.
Previously following a low carb diet, Shantelle has found with herย current energy expenditure, her weight loss has done a flip and she doesnโt lose weight unless she eats enough calories. Shantelle has been reintroducing carbs and eating more carbs on theย days she knows she will be using more energy.
Shantelleโsย typical day on a plate
Breakfast:ย โI always have a proteinย smoothieย for breakfast,” Shantelle says (Healthy Mummy smoothies launching in September!) Gluten Free Granola is also a fab, make ahead option.
Snack:ย Raw fruit and vegetables.
Lunch:ย Some form of protein with healthy carbs and rice (like these delish Open Pork Burgers)
Dinner:ย Roast vegetables and meat.
Meal prep is everything for Shantelleโsย family.
โHubby is now on board, he is trying to bulk at the moment so we meal prep together and we add a lot more carbs to his meals because our goals are different.โ
Shantelle doesnโt cook at all during the week, leaving her meal prep to just once a week with her husband, which allows themย both to alternate getting to the gym after work.ย Stayingย super organised byย scheduling all their gym sessionsย allows them to both get to the gym 6 times a week!
