A number of UK Supermarkets are recalling various Houmous products over fears they may contain Salmonella.

Nearly 20 types of houmous from stores including Sainsbury’s Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl and Asda have been urgently recalled over fears it could be contaminated with salmonella.

The Food Standards Agency is urging consumers not to eat the products, from Zorba Delicacies Limited, and to return them for a full refund.

The government department said: ‘The products listed above might be contaminated with salmonella.

‘If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.’

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
