Cow & Gate recall baby food sold at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Boots
Check your cupboards!
Cow & Gate is urgently recalling baby food sold at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda and Boots as pieces of blue rubber were found in one batch.
The Sun reports that ‘fragments of a thin blue rubber glove were found in some jars of its Cheesy Broccoli Bake Stage 3 for babies aged 10 months or older.’
According to theย Food Standards Agency (FSA) this means the food would be “unsafe to eat”.
Despite not causing a health risk, Cow & Gate are recalling the baby food as it doesn’t meet their standards.
The 250g jars were on sale at almost every major supermarket, including Asda, Boots, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, and Tesco.
The batch that was affected has the batchย code: 28122020; and a bestย best before date of December 28, 2020.
Cow & Gate issued a notice, saying, “We are sorry that these jars do not meet our usual high quality standards and for any inconvenience this recall may cause.
“These jars do not pose a health risk, but we are recalling them as they do not meet our usual high quality standards.”
