This mum has dropped 3 dress sizes and now has confidence in herself

Being proud of yourself is a way of saying you have a sense of self worth and is an excellent source of motivation to others.

One of our Healthy Mummy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge mums, Sar McGowan is a great example of weight loss resulting with a sense of self worth, self love and self pride.

Sar shares her story

Sar McGowan says that before her journey with The Healthy Mummy, she would smile outwardly, but on the inside, she was unhappy. “I was at the heaviest I had ever been and lacking all confidence and ability to figure out how to fix things.”

Sar says that she came across The Healthy Mummy on a Facebook ad and felt hope. “I found hope for the first time in a long time. I felt compelled to learn more and to join the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge, and see what I could achieve.”

“I loved that it was a lifestyle, not a diet and that it was for long-term health benefits, not just to be the thinnest I could be at all cost, like so many other programs,” she says.

Sar says that she has wholeheartedly embraced The Healthy Mummy lifestyle. “I am so grateful that I found The Healthy Mummy. My life has been changed for the better because of this amazing lifestyle and I am never going back to where I started from.” Sar says.

The Healthy Mummy smoothies


Sar says that having The Healthy Mummy smoothies for breakfast has really helped. She says she used to skip meals but the “smoothies are so yummy, full of the vitamins and nutrients I need to help me get better quicker and they have really helped my sore throat when mixed with ice to make them nice and chilled.”

“I also feel they have been a huge contributing factor to me losing 6lb in two weeks!”

Never looking back

Sar says she hasn’t looked back since that first day she started her Healthy Mummy journey.

“I found a healthy relationship with food and myself for the first time in my life, I have found more self confidence than I ever thought possible, I am finally living my life instead of hiding away from it and being the mum I want to be to my two gorgeous children.”

On top of all of that, Sar says that she has lost over two stone, she has lost 25 inches and dropped three dress sizes.

Being active

Of late, Sar has been thrown some curveballs with illness and injury knocking her back and preventing her from being as active as she would have wanted to be.

“Despite this however, The Healthy Mummy lifestyle and my daily addiction of Healthy Mummy smoothies have helped to encourage my weight loss and healthy lifestyle to continue.” 

Life saving meal plans

Sar says that before The Healthy Mummy, she would’ve given up and hidden under the duvet with a tub or two of Ben and Jerry’s. But now, she says, she is sticking to her meal plans and she has still managed to lose 6lb in the last two weeks.

“I have a long way to go until I reach my end goals, but I feel like I am already winning, thanks to the amazing support and encouragement from the beautiful, inspiring women in the UK support group. I feel very lucky to have found this amazing lifestyle – Healthy Mummy has definitely saved my life!”

Sar says that no matter what life throws at her, with The Healthy Mummy and the amazing women by her side, she says she knows she can’t go wrong. “To me, the before and after pictures say it all!”

“If I can do it, so can you! We got this ladies!”
