6 reasons WHY you’re feeling so bloated

That bloated feeling is one we all know FAR too well! It’s usually related to what and how we eat, but there are other reasons too.

So if you’re trying to lose weight and are fed up with feeling like you have a food baby, check out these reasons why you may be feeling bloated.

Here are six common reasons why you could be feeling bloated.

6 reasons WHY you're feeling so bloated

6 reasons WHY you’re feeling so bloated

1. You’re eating the wrong foods

Rich, fatty and salty foods like fast food are never beneficial when losing weight. But even certain HEALTHY foods like apples, broccoli and beans are known to cause bloating so with these, it’s best to have smaller portions and eat them with other foods.

But the good news is that there are certain foods that can help! Foods like bananas, avocados, asparagus, ginger and yogurt with probiotics are great anti-bloat foods – though too much dairy can make it worse.

2. You’re choosing fizzy drinks instead of water

Fizzy soft drinks and sparkling mineral waters can cause your tummy to puff out, due to those bubbles of carbon dioxide.

Soft drinks have little nutritional value so try to wean yourself off them and opt for water or green tea as your main drink choices.

3. You’re eating too fast

When you swallow lots of air when you’re eating, this can lead to that stuffed feeling.

Savour your food and chew slowly to prevent this, and this can also help you eat smaller portions.

4. You’re not exercising enough

5. You’re overeating

It’s very easy to pile up your plate, especially when you’re STARVING!

Try to eat small portions regularly throughout the day so you don’t end up feeling hungry and overeat as a result.

6. It’s that time of the month

period

When it’s that time of the month, some women feel the bloat.

If you are one of those women, try upping your calcium and magnesium as both nutrients have been found to have a positive impact on reducing PMS symptoms, including bloating.
