How to celebrate Mothers Day in isolation!

Mother’s Day might look a little different this year for all of us.

Depending on where you live in the UK, you may or may not be able to see your own mum due to the different restrictions.

But if you are living with your children and they are not sure how to celebrate it in lockdown, then we have some GREAT and simple ideas so you can still have a special day.

And you deserve it.  It’s not been easy juggling the homeschooling alongside working from home and keeping on top of the housework.

6 ways to celebrate Mother’s Day during lockdown

1. Mother’s Day breakfast

You may not be able to go out for lunch this year, but the kids can still make you breakfast in bed.

We’ve pulled together some of our easiest and quickest breakfast recipes your kids (or partner) to make for you while you have a lie in.

2. DIY cards

If your kids are unable to get to the shops to buy you a card, then they can try making you one instead. This might be nicer, as it’s more personal and something you can keep in your memory box.

3. Gifts

Instead of getting massage vouchers or a trip to the nail salon, you can ask your kids to do these things for you instead. If not, ask them to make you vouchers that you can trade in for them making dinner one evening or cleaning the house.

They could even try making their own gifts, such as pasta jewellery or a picture collage of you guys together.

4. Family time

You may not be able to go for lunch or dinner but why not try having a BBQ at home? Hubby can supervise the children making it if you are putting your feet up. You can also spend time together by watching a film or playing board games together.

5. Flowers

Some florists are still delivering flowers during the pandemic. If not, your children could try picking some from the garden, or even making their own using coloured paper and green straws.

6. FaceTime your loved ones

If you’re unable to visit your own mum or other relatives on Mother’s Day, then you can always try scheduling a FaceTime catch up.
