Mum overcomes bi-polar medication and loses 6.4st
The key to weight loss is more than simply eating better and exercising more. Itโs also about staying focused and positive.
After suffering bi-polar disorder and weight gain from the prescribed medication, Ryann decided to sign up to The Healthy Mummy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.
She has now lost 6.4stย and developed a healthyย relationship with food and exercise. She is happier than ever andย says,ย โI am so proud of myself and I am thankful that The Healthy Mummy has allowed me to find myself againโ.
Ryannโs Story
Ryann says,ย โThis isnโt the first time that I have lost a large amount of weight. The joys of childbearing meant that more than 7 stone was more than happy to settle on me.โ
โFollowing giving birth to my son, I was able to drop 2.5st. However, not too long after I was faced with having to manage my bi-polar disorder. The medications given to me were causing me to gain weight. Before I knew it, my post baby weight was creeping back on. As I gained the weight, I was becoming more depressed about the way that I looked.โ
โMy relationship with food was also horrible. From eating no food to eating copious amounts of food โ I knew I had to create a healthier relationship food. Thatโs when I stumbled across theย 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.โ
โI began to read through some of the posts on The Healthy Mummy Facebook Support Groupย and knew that this could beย the answer.โ
โEating healthy didnโt have to be hard, but I let it be.โ
โI started following The Healthy Mummyโs meals and recipes on the blog. I was shocked by how good they were. Before I knew it I had incorporated the Healthy Mummy lifestyle into my life, but most importantly my familyโs life and joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge.”
โI also startedย to notice that my husband was losing weight (he has actually lost 3.2st). I knew this would change our lives.โ
Amazing Results!
โMy next step was to start exercising. Mostly weight training. Again, it has made a major impact.โ
โThe Healthy Mummy helped me transition from an unhealthy, destructive lifestyle to a more active and healthy lifestyle. The Healthy Mummy isnโt about eating minimal amounts rather it is about fuelling my body for the lifestyle that I am living.โ
โI have seen over 6.4st gone and 100cm+ disappear. I am so proud of myself and I am thankful that the Healthy Mummy has allowed me to find myself again.โ
โIn regards to weight loss, you honestly and truly need to want it; you canโt just tell yourself you do. Find that part of you that wants to lose the weight and never let her go.โ
โMy advice is to never give up and support one another. The Healthy Mummy Support Group has certainly always kept me motivated.โ
So glad to hear youโre happier and healthier Ryann, keep up your awesome work!
