This mum dropped over 4st thanks to the Healthy Mummy community
Despite going through a difficult time, this mum turned her life around thanks toย women inspiring women in the Healthy Mummy community.
Depressed, very unhealthy and unhappy within herself, mum of 2 teenagers, Jenni,ย began to followย The Healthy Mummy Facebook pageย before taking the plunge with theย 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge. And sheย hasnโt looked back!
After starting with her weight at 15.1st she now weighs 10.3st, dropping 4.8st thanks to the Healthy Mummy.
Women supporting women
It hasnโt been smooth sailing for Jenni. The death of herย ex partner, her sonโs dad, took a huge toll on her mental and physical health.ย โI felt like throwing in the towel and giving up but Iโd got so far already and didnโt want to,โย she says.
Sheย started believing in herself again and says,ย โIโd forgotten how to do that,ย I kept busy with gym as this would pick me up when I felt down and I really learnt that eating properly and exercise really is the best medicine.โ
Jenni says Theย Healthy Mummy has really helped herย get stronger physically andย mentally, and itโs kept herย head above water in very difficult times.
โSeeing real mums like myself made me believe I could do it too,ย I have now dropped from a size 20/22 to a 10,โย Jenni said. Sheโs also sped past her goal weight which was 11.4st.
Jenni maintains her weight by enjoying the delicious but nutritious Healthy Mummy recipes (like this Chunky Beef and Vegetable Pie).
Support is where change begins
Jenniโs 2 teenage boys are also now eating healthy and keeping active right along sideย her. Getting support from your family and/or other mums is a great way to keep on track and your motivation levels up!
โAll the support, love and encouragement from all The Healthy Mummy pages, teams, groups andย mums is just amazing, overwhelming actually and you really donโt see a lot of this, women empowering other women, itโs just the best, this empowerment kept me going,โย says Jenni.
Living andย loving life again is Jenniโs biggest achievement as for years she had lost that before this journey.
Tips
Jenniโsย biggest tip isย even if youโve had a bad day/week, food wise, dust yourself off as tomorrow is another day.
โI fell off the wagon a few times but itโs about picking yourself up again and getting right back on it!!โย Jenni says.
